Privacy Policy

Last updated October 6, 2026 · see also the Terms of Service

The short version. We collect what it takes to run a card-trading site: your email, a collector name, the cards and wants you enter, a shipping address once you add one, and the usual technical records. Your shipping address is shown to a seller only after they accept your offer. We don’t sell your information, and there are no ads or trackers on the site — with one exception we’d rather name than bury: the optional Earn credits page embeds offer walls run by advertising companies, which see your IP and device in their own frames. There is no password to leak. Questions go to [email protected] and a collector reads them. The full policy below is what governs.

1. Who we are

CollectorCredits (“CollectorCredits,” “we,” “us”) is an independent collector marketplace at collectorcredits.com. Collectors catalog the Pokémon cards they own, set standing wants on the cards they are missing, and trade them for Collector Credits (CC), a closed-loop balance that is not money. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Nintendo, Creatures, or The Pokémon Company.

You can reach us at [email protected].

2. What this policy covers

This policy covers the CollectorCredits website, the short profile links we provide (such as mybinder.cc, which only redirects to a profile here and sets no cookies of its own), and the emails we send. It does not cover other websites we link to, such as card price references, which have their own policies.

3. What we collect

Account information

  • Email address. It is how you sign in and where we send your sign-in codes and notices. There are no passwords on CollectorCredits, so we never collect or store one.
  • Google account details if you sign in with Google — see section 4.
  • Discord account details if you link Discord — see section 5.
  • Collector name. We generate one for you (for example “Collector 4821”) and you can change it. It is public, as is the history of names your account has used, so old links keep working.
  • Optional profile details you choose to add, such as a location or a short bio. Anything you put there is public.
  • Who referred you, if you joined through another collector’s referral link. We use it to pay that collector a one-time bonus when your first send is delivered and a share of what you earn from offers, out of our share and never out of yours, and they see your collector name beside anything they receive for it.
  • Where you came from: the website that first sent your browser to CollectorCredits, as your browser reported it (usually just the site’s name, such as reddit.com), and the page you arrived on. We record it once, when your account is created, so we know which sites and posts bring collectors here. It is never shown to other collectors.

Shipping address

When you add a shipping address (full name, street address, city, state or province, postal code, and country — United States or Canada), we store it so a seller can mail you the cards you have agreed to receive. Changing an address already on file requires a fresh code from your email. When you save a United States address we check it against postal records through our shipping provider, Shippo, which may offer a standardized version for you to choose. We keep whether it was found and whether it is residential, and the seller who mails to it sees whether it could be confirmed.

We keep a record of the shipping addresses used on your account, including earlier ones after you change them and the standardized versions our shipping provider returns. We use them, like the other information described in this policy, to keep trading safe and to prevent fraud and abuse, and we may ask for further verification or act under the Terms where we find it.

Mobile phone number

We may ask you to verify a mobile phone number by texting you a one-time code. We keep the number you verified, when it was verified, and a record of verification attempts, including what kind of line a number is. We use them to keep trading safe and to prevent fraud and abuse; one number verifies one account. We send no other texts, and your number is never shown to other collectors. Our verification provider, Twilio, receives the number to send the code and to tell us what kind of line it is.

Collecting and trading activity

The cards you catalog and the printing, finish, condition and grading you declare for them; the cards you make available; your wants and their offer terms; matches, sends, trades, and the ledger of your Collector Credits; the shipping carrier and tracking details a sender enters; delivery confirmations; and cancellations.

Feedback and private reports

The public feedback you leave about other collectors and they leave about you. Separately, after a delivery a buyer may leave a private report on whether the cards matched their described condition and how they were packed. Those private reports are never shown to the seller, on any profile, or to anyone else; we use them to weigh seller accuracy and to decide Trade Protection claims.

Offers you complete

If you use the Earn credits page, we keep a record of each offer the wall reports: a transaction identifier, the offer’s identifier and name, what it paid, whether it credited, was held for review, was rejected by the partner or was later reversed, and the IP address recorded at completion. See section 6 for what the offer wall itself collects, which is separate from this.

Communications

Emails and messages you send us, and our records of the codes and notices we send you.

Technical information

The IP address your requests come from (recorded at signup and at each sign-in, and in ordinary server logs), your browser and device type, the pages you request and when, and the cookies described in section 9. We use these to keep the site running and to spot fraud and abuse, for example many accounts created from one connection.

What we do not collect

Passwords (none exist), payment card or bank details (nothing on CollectorCredits is sold for money), and your Google contacts, calendar, files or profile (we ask Google for your email address only).

4. Signing in with Google

If you choose Continue with Google, we ask Google for the minimum needed to sign you in: the openid and email scopes. Google then gives us three things: your Google account’s unique identifier, the email address on it, and whether Google has verified that address.

  • How we use it. To create your CollectorCredits account or sign you into the one that already uses that verified email address, and to remember the link between your Google account and your CollectorCredits account so you can sign in with Google again.
  • What we store. The identifier and the email address, with the date the link was made and last used.
  • What we don’t do with it. We do not share it with anyone, use it for advertising, or ask Google for anything else about you. We do not request access to your Google contacts, calendar, files, photos, or profile.
  • Revoking access. You can remove CollectorCredits from your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. You can still sign in with a code sent to your email.

CollectorCredits’ use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5. Linking Discord

CollectorCredits runs a community server on Discord. Linking is optional, and nothing on CollectorCredits requires it — your collection, your wants and your trades all work without it.

If you choose Join our Discord, we ask Discord for two permissions and no others: identify, which gives us your Discord account’s unique identifier and username, and guilds.join, which lets us add you to our server so you do not have to find an invite. We do not ask for your email address on Discord, your other servers, your friends, or your messages, and we never post or send messages as you.

  • What we store. Your Discord identifier, your username as it was when you linked, and the dates the link was made and the server add last succeeded. We do not keep the access token Discord gives us: it is used once, to add you to the server, and then discarded.
  • Linking is not a way to sign in. A linked Discord account cannot be used to log in to CollectorCredits, and we hold it separately from the accounts that can.
  • One account each way. A Discord account can be linked to only one CollectorCredits account, and the other way round. This is how the server stays collectors-only, and it helps us spot one person running several accounts.
  • What other people in the server see. Your Discord profile as you have set it up there, that you are a linked CollectorCredits member, and any roles we give your account — which in future may reflect how many trades you have completed. Your email address, your Collector Credits balance, your shipping address and the private condition reports are never sent to Discord.
  • Unlinking. You can unlink at any time on your account page. That removes our record of the link; it does not remove you from the server, which you can leave yourself, and you can also remove CollectorCredits from your Discord account at any time in Discord’s own settings under Authorized Apps.

The activity feed. We post what happens on CollectorCredits to a channel in that server: cards as they are listed for trade, with their market price; wants that are ready to pay, with their terms; and packages whose delivery the buyer has confirmed. A post names the card and never the collector: no collector name, profile, location or Discord account. It covers activity on the site whether or not you have linked Discord, the same way the Cards page shows anyone what is available.

Discord is an independent company and what you do there is covered by its own privacy policy and terms, not this one — see section 15.

6. Earning credits from offers

The Earn credits page shows offers from three advertising partners, on separate tabs: Adscend Media, Lootably, and CPX Research, which provides the surveys. Using any of them is entirely optional — every other part of CollectorCredits works without them, and credits can be earned by trading instead. Everything below applies to all three.

  • What we send them. One thing about you: an identifier for your account of the form CC followed by your account number, so they can tell us which collector to credit. (A wall’s link also carries our own publisher or placement identifier, which says nothing about you.) We do not send your email address, your collector name, your shipping address, your collection, or your wants. A wall can also accept a gender, an age range and a device advertising identifier; we send none of those.
  • What they collect directly. The wall loads inside our page from the partner’s own servers, so they receive your IP address, your browser and device details, and they set their own cookies and storage. They use this to show you offers, to remember which you have completed, and to detect fraud. This happens under their privacy policy, not ours, and the Earn page is the one place on CollectorCredits where a third party observes you directly.
  • What they tell us back. When you complete an offer we receive a transaction identifier, the offer’s identifier and name, what it paid, its status (approved, rejected by the partner’s own checks, or still pending), and the IP address and country recorded at completion. We keep that record so we can show you your earnings, answer questions about a missing credit, and detect abuse.
  • The offers belong to other companies. Signing up for a service, installing an app or answering a survey is a dealing between you and that advertiser, under their terms and privacy policy. If an offer asks for your name, your email address or anything else, you are giving it to them, not to us, and we cannot retrieve or delete it for you.
  • Surveys may ask about you. Survey offers commonly ask demographic questions to decide whether you qualify. Those answers go to the survey provider. We never receive them.
  • Reversals. An advertiser can reverse a completion afterwards if they judge it invalid, sometimes weeks later. If that happens the credits are taken back out and the reversal appears in your history.

We are paid by the partner when you complete an offer, and we pass most of that on to you as Collector Credits. We do not receive any personal information about you as part of that payment. All three are independent companies — see section 15.

7. How we use information

  • To run the site: keep your catalog and wants, match wants to cards other collectors make available, hold and move Collector Credits, and run each send from acceptance to delivery.
  • To give a seller who has accepted your offer the address to mail your cards to.
  • To sign you in and keep you signed in, and to send the codes and notices that requires.
  • To send you notices about your trades, matches, sends and account. We do not send marketing email today; if we ever add optional emails, each one will carry a way to stop them.
  • To prevent and investigate fraud, abuse, counterfeit cards, bonus farming, and violations of our Terms.
  • To decide Trade Protection claims and resolve disputes between collectors.
  • To understand how the site is used and improve it.
  • To comply with the law, respond to lawful requests, and protect our rights and the safety of collectors.

8. How we share it

With other collectors

Your profile is public. It shows your collector name, when you joined, any location or bio you added, your active wants and their offer terms, the cards you have made available, the feedback you have received, and counts of the sends you have completed. Your email address, your Collector Credits balance, and the private condition reports are never shown.

Your shipping address is shown to a seller only after they accept your offer, so they can mail the cards. Once that send has settled, the seller sees only a shortened form of it (first name, city, state or province, postal code, and country).

With service providers

Companies that host our servers, deliver our email, provide sign-in (Google), check United States shipping addresses against postal records (Shippo), send and check phone verification codes (Twilio), host our community server (Discord, and only if you link it — see section 5), and route our short profile links (Cloudflare) process information on our behalf and under our instructions. Our card price references (TCGplayer market data and Cardmarket, read through TCGdex and JustTCG) receive nothing about you; we read their data, they do not read ours.

Adscend Media, Lootably and CPX Research, which run the offer walls, are deliberately listed apart from these: they are not processing information on our behalf but collecting their own, and only if you open the Earn credits page. See section 6.

For legal reasons

We may disclose information when we believe in good faith it is necessary to comply with a law, regulation, subpoena or court order; to enforce our Terms; to detect or prevent fraud, abuse or security problems; or to protect the rights, property or safety of CollectorCredits, our collectors, or the public.

If the site changes hands

If CollectorCredits is sold, merged, or reorganised, the information we hold may transfer to the new operator, who will be bound by this policy until it is changed under section 16.

What we never do

We do not sell your personal information. We do not give advertisers your email address, your shipping address, your collection, your wants or your trading history, and nothing you do elsewhere on CollectorCredits is used to target advertising at you.

The one exception to name plainly: if you open the Earn credits page, the offer walls there are run by advertising companies that see your IP address and device in their own frames, as section 6 describes. Apart from that page, there are no advertising networks, no third-party analytics and no trackers on the site. If that ever changes we will update this policy first.

9. Cookies and browser storage

  • ccsid — the session cookie that keeps you signed in. It holds a random identifier and nothing else, and it lasts up to 30 days without a visit, refreshed as you use the site. Signing out deletes it. The site cannot keep you signed in without it.
  • ccref — set only when you arrive through another collector’s referral link. It holds their collector name and nothing else, lasts 30 days, and is read once, when an account is created, so we know who to thank. Signing in removes it.
  • ccfrom — set only when you are not signed in and another website links you here. It holds that site’s address and the page you arrived on, lasts 30 days, and is read once, when an account is created. Signing in removes it.
  • Those three are the only cookies we set.
  • A security token inside your session that protects the forms you submit from being submitted by other websites.
  • Your browser’s own storage may hold small conveniences for that device, such as a remembered filter. Nothing in it leaves your browser.

We set no advertising, analytics or third-party cookies.

10. How long we keep it

  • Account information for as long as your account exists.
  • Trades, sends, the credit ledger and feedback are kept after an account closes, because they are the shared record of exchanges with other collectors and the reputation those collectors were rated on. On a closed account your name is replaced with “a former collector” where feedback is shown.
  • Sign-in codes are deleted within a day of being issued. Sessions expire after 30 days without a visit.
  • Server logs and fraud signals for a limited period, long enough to investigate abuse.
  • The shipping addresses used on an account, and a verified phone number with its verification attempts, for as long as the account exists, and afterwards for as long as we need them to prevent fraud and abuse.
  • Anything we must keep by law, for as long as that law requires.

When you close your account we delete or de-identify what we can and keep only what the trade record or the law requires.

11. Security

There are no passwords to steal: you sign in with a single-use code sent to your email or through Google, sessions are bound to your browser, and changing a shipping address on file needs a fresh code. The site is served over HTTPS and Collector Credits are held in escrow during a trade. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed without authorisation. If you believe your account has been used by someone else, use Sign out everywhere else in Settings and write to us.

12. Your choices and rights

  • Change your collector name in Settings and your shipping address from your Want List.
  • Ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account. Write to [email protected] from the email address on the account; we may ask you to confirm it is yours. Deletion is subject to section 10.
  • Emails from us are limited to sign-in codes and notices about your account and trades. If we ever add optional emails, each will carry a way to stop them.
  • Residents of California, Canada, the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area and other places may have additional rights under local law, including rights of access, correction, deletion, portability and objection. Use the same address to exercise them. We do not discriminate against anyone for doing so, and we do not sell personal information.

13. Children

CollectorCredits is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Collectors under 18 may only use the site with a parent or guardian who accepts our Terms on their behalf. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.

14. Where information is processed

We operate from the United States and process information there. If you use the site from elsewhere, you understand that your information is transferred to and handled in the United States, whose laws may differ from those where you live.

15. Other sites

The site links to card price references and other resources we do not control. Their privacy practices are their own.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site grows. We will change the date at the top, and for material changes we will post a notice on the site or email you. Using the site after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
